This service can range in scope from basic telephone-help
with the finding of lost data-files, right through to the
recovery of the data-file content of entire hard-drives following
a major PC crash. In this context, the term 'datafiles' is
used to include Outlook Express email files and folders which
may contain essential correspondence and contact-list information,
and whose loss could cause serious business difficulties.
The service also covers (wherever possible) the retrieval
and reinstatement of files that have been deleted both from
their original folders and/or from the Recycle Bin.
The
service also covers the 'cloning' (i.e. the exact copying,
byte for byte) of the entire contents of an old hard-drive
onto a new, replacement hard-drive, should such an operation
become necessary and if it's still possible. The object of
such an operation would be to forestall possible data-loss
from a drive that has started to develop unrepairable mechanical
problems, due to its age and length of use.
Drive-cloning can also be used to carry out a quick, cheap,
safe upgrade to your PC's data-storage capacity. The entire
contents of your (probably) much smaller original hard-drive
are simply cloned onto a suitably-partitioned, fully-tested,
larger replacement (or additional) hard-drive unit, which
is then installed in your PC as the Primary Master drive in
place of the original unit. The original drive can then be
reinstalled as the Primary Slave or Secondary Master, and
cleared down later ready for use as extra storage, once the
operation of the system from the new drive has been tested
thoroughly.
